In our Career Spotlight feature, we catch up with each member of the Realm team to talk about where they came from, what their job involves and how they’ve grown since joining the business.
This month, it’s junior consultant Lucy, who joined Realm in July 2019.
What did you do before you joined Realm / How did you end up working in legal recruitment?
After school I went on to college to study Business and following on from college I studied Events Management at university. I then secured a role at Together, a financial services company as an internal Recruitment Coordinator. As soon as I settled into the position I realised I absolutely love working in recruitment and this is definitely where I see my career progressing.
Why did you join Realm?
I wanted to move from internal recruitment to an agency and after my interview with Duane, I knew straight away that Realm would be a great way to kickstart my recruitment agency career. I also liked that Realm was a niche legal consultancy and their values were very refreshing. As soon as I started the team made me feel very welcome.
What does your role at Realm involve?
I am a Junior Consultant currently working on lower-level legal roles and building and maintaining relationships with candidates.
What has been the biggest achievement of your career so far?
Making my first ever 3 placements in very quick succession.
How has working at Realm helped you in your career development?
My career developed from the moment I joined Realm. I moved from a Recruitment Coordinator to a Junior Consultant. I have been provided with fantastic training which allowed me to make several placements so far. I have started to build excellent relationships with candidates, which I will continue to maintain. I have also attended my first networking event and I will continue to attend more in order to build my personal brand and network.
