A highly regarded national law firm is looking for a Court of Protection Lawyer with at least three years’ experience of running a caseload of Court of Protection work (finance and property affairs) to join its standout Legal 500 Tier 1 team.

This opportunity has come to market as the result of organic growth, so your mission will be to add further clout to an already exceptional team in its aim to become the go-to firm nationally for the most complex, highest value cases.

The team is already well on its way, with most of its cases valuing between £5m and £75m. It’s no wonder, therefore, the team has taken home several awards from national and regional legal bodies this year.

You’ll work directly under a high-profile, award-winning head of department and alongside an OPG Panel deputy specialising in cross-border, financial abuse and local authority deputyships, and two experts specialising in deputyships for children and adults on personal injury/clinical negligence compensation awards.

The team will continue to grow in size and stature, so there will be plenty of opportunities for progression in both the short- and long-term.

In the role, you’ll be managing your own varied caseload of deputyships arising from personal injury or clinical negligence claims (pre- and post-settlement), and from the OPG panel and local authority. You’ll support and protect your clients’ needs on a wide range of issues, including financial planning, management of their funds, assets, property and care arrangements.

You’ll also gain valuable leadership experience, getting the chance to delegate to a team of experienced paralegals.

The firm values experience over qualification status and is therefore open to applications from qualified solicitors, legal executives or experienced paralegals.

This Top 100 firm is accredited by Investors in People and has been named as one of The Sunday Times’ Best Companies to Work For – and it’s easy to see why.

Team members get a minimum of 25 days’ annual leave, plus office closure between Christmas and New Year and an additional two days per year to do charitable work.

The firm has an active social calendar, including regular team and firmwide events, and sports clubs, so you’ll get to know your new colleagues and feel part of the team quickly.
