Head of Private Client – Progression Opportunity 8+ PQE – Three days from home

This is an exciting opportunity for a Private Client Solicitor with at least eight years’ experience to take a step up to lead a team within an award-winning firm, or for an existing Head of Department looking for a better commute and hybrid working. 

The right candidate will have experience in dealing with tax and trust matters but doesn’t necessarily have to have prior experience of managing a team or a client following – which is rare for such a senior position.  

You would lead an experienced, highly engaged team of seven private client solicitors, plus an additional two solicitors specialising in contentious probate, ranging from NQ all the way up to senior team members.  

The team is spread across three regional offices, and you will be able to choose whether you would like to be based in either Wakefield or Garforth. You will also be able to work three days per week from home, if you wish to.  

You will have the opportunity to continue to grow the team, as the department has a growing caseload of good quality work available, and a wide and active referral network.  

One of the special things about this role is that you will be joining during an exciting growth phase for the firm and can really make your mark on the direction and growth of the team. There would even be future potential for taking equity in the business. 

You must be willing to get involved in some soft business development activity (such as meeting with contacts to build on existing relationships, as opposed to doing huge amounts of networking). 

You would have the choice of handling your own mixed caseload of private client work (including wills, probate, tax and trusts, etc.) or specialise solely in tax. 

The firm is well-regarded within the region and has a strong focus on employee wellbeing. Team members get plenty of time to recharge, with 25 days holiday, plus Christmas closure and your birthday off. As a senior member of the team, you would also receive a further holiday allowance on top of this.
