Civil and Commercial Litigation Head of Department

This is a rare opportunity to step into a Civil & Commercial Litigation Head of Department role at a rapidly expanding Cheshire firm.

You’ll join a firm that has expanded significantly in recent years, particularly across property and litigation, with strong internal promotions and clear growth and progression pathways.

Who we’re looking for

• 5+ PQE in civil and/or commercial litigation
• Ability to run a mixed civil/commercial caseload independently
• Experience across shareholder disputes, commercial property disputes, contract disputes, boundary disputes, contentious probate and domestic building disputes
• Ability to step in and confidently take over an established caseload
• Proactive, team-first mindset aligned with firm values
• Leadership or HOD experience (Desired)
• Business development experience or following (Desired

What you’ll be doing

• Leading the Civil & Commercial Litigation team
• Managing performance, workflow and development of junior lawyers and trainees
• Taking over and progressing a significant portion of the existing HOD’s caseload
• Handling a 50/50 split of civil and commercial litigation matters
• Supporting the strategic growth of the department
