Are you an experienced Court of Protection Paralegal, or do you have a strong financial management background and want to move into a meaningful legal role?
This award-winning specialist practice is looking for a Court of Protection Paralegal / Case Worker to join its growing Manchester team. Around 95% of the firm’s work involves supporting vulnerable clients and their families, giving you the opportunity to make a tangible difference through your day-to-day work.
You’ll support clients who may have a brain injury, dementia or otherwise lack capacity, helping manage their property and financial affairs. You’ll often be a key point of contact for clients, families and carers, assisting with everything from household bills and budgeting to larger purchases and practical financial arrangements.
Who we’re looking for
- Court of Protection Paralegal experience or a strong financial management background (E)
- Experience with budgeting, bills and invoice payments (E)
- Excellent attention to detail (E)
- Strong organisation and time management (E)
- Confident and empathetic telephone manner (E)
- Good negotiation skills (E)
- Strong IT skills (E)
- Practical understanding of household budgeting (E)
- Ability to work effectively in a busy environment (E)
You don’t necessarily need previous legal experience. Candidates who have managed finances professionally and can demonstrate the right organisation, judgement and client-care skills will also be considered.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting Court of Protection clients
- Managing practical financial arrangements
- Helping clients with budgets and bills
- Arranging invoice payments
- Supporting larger purchases
- Speaking with clients, families and carers
- Conducting annual home visits
- Working closely with experienced lawyers
- Maintaining electronic case files
- Working towards 5 chargeable hours per day
Salary & Benefits
- £28,000 – £35,000 depending on experience
