Head of Private Client

This is a rare opportunity for a Private Client Solicitor to step into a Head of Department role at a firm with a supportive culture and an already thriving practice.
With a smooth-running team in place, you’ll join at the right time to take the reins, manage a diverse caseload, and guide the team’s continued growth.
This is very much a management-focused role with the support of talented, experienced fee earners around you.
Who we’re looking for
- 3 PQE+ Private Client Solicitor
- Strong technical expertise across wills, probate, estate planning, trusts, and tax
- Experience handling HNW and complex estate matters
- Confident managing people in an inclusive, collaborative way
- Able to provide technical supervision and support where needed
- Ambitious and commercially minded, with an interest in growing the department
What you’ll be doing
- Lead and supervise the Private Client department
- Manage a caseload of varied private client matters, including HNW and complex work
- Act as the go-to technical expert for the team
- Support the development of juniors and identify training needs
- Contribute to the department’s long-term growth strategy, particularly in agriculture
- Work closely with colleagues across offices to deliver seamless client service
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: Competitive, up to £65k (DOE)
- Bonus: 10% of anything billed above 3.5x salary
- Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays
