  • Associate Partner role with a clear, achievable path to Partnership
  • High-end HNW/UHNW work, focused on quality, not volume or churn
  • Employee-owned firm with real influence over direction and growth

This is one of those roles where the shape of the job depends on you.

Whether your strength is technical excellence in tax and trusts, mentoring others, or building client relationships, the firm is open to tailoring the role around what you bring, and where you want to go next.

From day one, you’ll be working on complex, high-value private client matters, with a particular focus on tax and trusts. The work is there, the client base is established, and the expectation is that you can operate at a senior level, but without the pressure to churn through files. You will be working from the Brimingham office 2 days a week, you will be based in Birmingham office, within a commutable distance from Oxford.

Over time, the role becomes more strategic. You’ll naturally take on more responsibility within the team, contribute to its direction, and build your own profile within the firm. Partnership is a genuine outcome here, most of the current Partners have progressed internally, and there’s a clear, uncapped route to get there.

The culture is collaborative and grounded. Despite the calibre of work, it doesn’t feel corporate or hierarchical, people work closely together, share knowledge freely, and focus on delivering the right outcome for clients.

Who we’re looking for

  • Qualified Solicitor with strong Private Client experience
  • Technical expertise in Tax & Trusts work
  • Experience handling complex HNW/UHNW matters
  • Broad Private Client background
  • STEP qualification (Desired)
  • Background from a strong regional or similar-quality firm
  • Ability to build and maintain high-value client relationships
  • Ambition to progress towards Partnership
  • Professional, confident and commercially aware

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing a high-quality private client caseload, focused on tax and trusts
  • Advising HNW and UHNW clients on complex estate and succession planning
  • Building long-term client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser
  • Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers where appropriate
  • Contributing to the growth and strategic direction of the team
  • Working collaboratively across a specialist Private Client department

Salary & Benefits

  • Clear and realistic route to Partnership
  • Employee-owned structure, real influence and long-term security
  • Hybrid working: typically 2–3 days in the office
  • High-quality, specialist work within a respected Private Client team
  • Collaborative, non-hierarchical culture
  • Strong retention and long-term career prospects
  • Opportunity to shape your role based on your strengths
