This is a great opportunity for an experienced Family Solicitor to join a growing and supportive family law team based in Huddersfield, with the opportunity to work across multiple offices.
You’ll handle a broad mix of private family and legal aid matters, giving you exposure to a varied caseload while working within a collaborative team environment. The role also offers the opportunity to supervise junior team members and contribute to the ongoing development of the department.

Who we’re looking for
- Qualified Solicitor with strong experience in family law
- Experience handling legal aid family matters
- Knowledge of Legal Aid Agency procedures and eligibility criteria
- Experience running a varied family caseload, including private children, divorce and finances
- Experience dealing with domestic abuse matters and non-molestation orders
- Advocacy experience and confidence in attending hearings
- Strong drafting, communication and client care skills
- Ability to bring in work and develop professional relationships (Desired)
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff (Desired)
What you’ll be doing
- Managing a varied family law caseload
- Attending court hearings, including directions hearings, first appointments and financial dispute resolution hearings
- Preparing legal aid applications and liaising with the Legal Aid Agency
- Drafting legal documents, statements and correspondence
- Supervising junior fee earners and carrying out file reviews
- Supporting the Head of Department with team development
- Contributing to marketing and business development initiatives
