This is an opportunity to join a well-established, close-knit high-street firm in Staffordshire that is looking to grow significantly over the coming years.

You’ll step into a busy Wills & Probate / Private Client role, handling your own caseload with support from two other solicitors in the team. The work is varied and client-focused, ranging from straightforward wills through to more complex estate administration, trusts and inheritance tax planning.

The firm has a strong local presence and values long-term client relationships, offering a supportive environment where quality of work and client care come first.

Who we’re looking for

  • Wills & Probate Solicitor (circa 1–2 PQE)
  • OR experienced Private Client Fee Earner / Paralegal with strong Wills & Probate experience
  • Experience managing a private client caseload independently
  • Experience with estate administration, including taxable estates and IHT reporting
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Comfortable meeting billing targets and managing time recording
  • Confident, empathetic and client-focused approach

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing a varied Private Client caseload including wills, probate, estate administration, trusts, LPAs and IHT planning
  • Advising clients on estate planning, succession planning and asset protection
  • Drafting wills, trust documentation and deeds of variation
  • Administering estates from initial instruction through to final distribution
  • Identifying legal, tax and practical risks within estates and advising accordingly
  • Delivering clear, sensitive advice to clients, often in emotional circumstances
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships and repeat work
  • Using case management systems and ensuring full regulatory compliance

Salary & Benefits

  • Competitive salary depending on experience
  • Hybrid working – 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
  • Full-time preferred, but 4 days per week considered
  • Flexible working hours around a 9am–5pm structure
  • 21 days holiday, increasing with length of service
