How do you think the lawyers you work with would describe you in three words?
I think the three words lawyers would use to describe me are approachable, reassuring and positive. These are actually words that I’ve taken from my previous recommendations.
Tell us about a great result you got for a law firm.
A great result I have got for a law firm is placing a senior solicitor to start up a brand-new Harrogate office for a Legal 500 firm to help with their growth plans.
Why do you enjoy working for Realm?
I enjoy working for Realm because we’ve got a really lovely, supportive team. Realm allows you to specialise in your own area, which is family law in Yorkshire for myself. I love working a four-day week alongside being able to have flexible working hours and the fact that Realm really helps you grow and develop in your career is amazing as well.
What advice would you give any law firms looking to recruit right now?
I think the advice that I would give to law firms if they’re looking to recruit is to make sure you have a solid interview process in place. If you’re making a senior hire, I wouldn’t have any more than a three-stage interview process.
What advice would you give a lawyer looking to build a successful career in family law?
The advice I would give to a lawyer who is wanting to move is really make sure and understand what your top five priorities are and then that way when you are looking at firms to move to you can find firms that do tick all those boxes. For example, some of those priorities could be salary, work, life balance or flexible working.
