Civil and Commercial Litigator

We’re working with a growing and ambitious law firm in Altrincham to recruit a Civil and Commercial Litigator.

The role is designed to evolve, giving you scope to step into a leadership position as the caseload grows. There’s already plenty of work on the books, so this is your chance to build on a solid foundation while contributing your ideas and energy to a values-driven firm.

Who we’re looking for

• 2–4 PQE in civil or commercial litigation
• Solid background in contract disputes and negligence matters
• Experience in any of the following is a plus: shareholder disputes, commercial lease issues, boundary disputes, contentious probate
• Strategic, commercially minded and enthusiastic about helping the team grow
• Friendly, collaborative, and ready to get involved in wider team initiatives
• Keen to take part in business development, even if you haven’t done so before

What you’ll be doing

• Managing a diverse caseload of around 60 civil and commercial matters
• Handling contract and negligence claims as a priority
• Instructing and quoting new client enquiries, and assessing case viability
• Running matters from instruction to completion
• Getting involved in firm-wide projects, including internal social initiatives
• Option to mentor junior team members over time

Salary & Benefits

• £35,000 – £45,000, depending on experience
• 1 day per week working from home (day can be flexible)
