Are you an experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor with the ambition to build your own practice, but without the financial risks of starting entirely from scratch?

This is an exceptional opportunity for a Contentious Probate Senior Associate or Partner to take a leading role in establishing and growing a new specialist law firm in Manchester.

The business behind this opportunity already generates a steady flow of contentious probate enquiries, with an established process for converting leads into instructions. Rather than continuing to refer this work to external firms, the aim is to build a dedicated legal practice.

You’ll have the opportunity to shape that practice from the outset.

You’ll independently manage a caseload of purely contentious probate matters while taking an active role in developing the business. With an existing source of instructions, there’s no requirement to bring your own following.

Alongside fee earning, you’ll help establish professional referral relationships, contribute to business development and marketing, and influence the firm’s commercial direction.

Most importantly, you’ll receive an employed salary alongside an ownership stake in the company, giving you the opportunity to share in the success of the practice you help build.

Who we’re looking for

• Qualified Contentious Probate Solicitor with 5+ years’ PQE (E)
• Extensive experience managing contentious probate matters independently (E)
• Strong technical knowledge of contentious probate litigation (E)
• Ability to run cases without ongoing technical supervision (E)
• Excellent client care, negotiation and litigation skills (E)
• Strong commercial awareness and business acumen (E)
• Entrepreneurial, driven and self-motivated approach (E)
• Genuine ambition to establish and grow a legal practice (E)
• Willingness to lead business development and marketing activity (E)
• Existing relationships with IFAs or professional referrers (D)
• Experience generating work through professional networks (D)
• Existing client following (D) – not required

• Managing a purely contentious probate caseload
• Handling complex disputes independently
• Advising on inheritance and estate disputes
• Managing litigation and settlement negotiations
• Delivering excellent client care
• Helping establish the new legal practice
• Developing relationships with IFAs and referrers

• Shaping the firm’s strategy and commercial direction
• Driving sustainable growth of the practice
