This is a rare opportunity for a 3–5 PQE Contentious Probate Solicitor to step into a role where you will be the go-to specialist in inheritance disputes, supported by a well-regarded wider litigation team.

This role will give you the platform to shape and grow this offering with full internal support.

Who we’re looking for

  • 3+ PQE in contentious probate
  • Strong experience in inheritance disputes, trusts disputes and ToLATA claims
  • Experience of both public and privately funded work
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills
  • Confident managing a caseload independently
  • Empathetic and professional approach when dealing with sensitive matters
  • ACTAPS qualification (Desired)

What you’ll be doing

  • Advising on Inheritance Act claims, will validity challenges, executor and beneficiary disputes, trust disputes and ToLATA matters
  • Managing a caseload from instruction through to settlement or trial
  • Drafting witness statements, pleadings, applications and settlement agreements
  • Conducting advocacy where appropriate and liaising with counsel for complex hearings
  • Acting for both publicly and privately funded clients
  • Working as part of the wider litigation team while leading on contentious probate matters
  • Helping to shape and grow the firm’s contentious probate offering
