You’ll join a nationally recognised Court of Protection team at a Top 150 firm. The department is led by an approachable and highly experienced partner and has grown significantly in recent years, thanks to a strong culture, consistent demand and fantastic internal development.

You’ll manage your own caseload of welfare proceedings and work with family members and litigation friends to safeguard the rights of vulnerable adults who lack capacity.

You’ll be supported by a team of graduate paralegals, and there’s plenty of opportunity to grow – with a clear route to Associate and beyond.

Who we’re looking for

  • Qualified solicitor, legal executive or equivalent
  • NQ-5 PQE
  • Experience with Court of Protection health and welfare matters
  • Previous legal aid experience
  • Advocacy experience
  • Empathetic, resilient and excellent with client communication

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing your own caseload of Court of Protection health and welfare proceedings
  • Supporting clients and families through sensitive legal processes
  • Attending care homes and hospitals to advise vulnerable adults
  • Preparing and managing Court applications and hearings
  • Advising on matters such as capacity, residence, care, contact and treatment
  • Ensuring compliance with Legal Aid requirements and professional standards
  • Contributing to the development and growth of the department
  • Delegating work appropriately and supporting more junior team members
