Family Solicitor
- The only employee-owned specialist family law firm in the region
- No billing targets, no internal competition — just high-quality family work
- Run your own caseload from day one with real flexibility and proper support
Most family solicitors can spot very quickly when a firm talks about “work-life balance” but still measures everyone against relentless targets and unrealistic expectations.
This Manchester-based team operates very differently. As an employee-owned specialist family law firm, the focus is far more collective — people work together, share in the firm’s success and genuinely prioritise quality of service over pure billing output. There are no aggressive targets, no constant pressure to chase hours and no sense of internal competition between fee earners.
You’ll step into an existing caseload from day one, handling a mix of financial remedy and private children matters while also supporting senior lawyers on more complex and HNW cases. The work is varied, relationship-led and often emotionally sensitive, so the team is looking for someone who combines technical capability with emotional intelligence and a genuinely client-focused approach.
The environment itself is collaborative, modern and refreshingly low-ego. Lawyers are trusted to manage their own workload and work flexibly around life, rather than being micromanaged or monitored constantly. Profit isn’t treated as the sole measure of success here — client outcomes, reputation and team wellbeing matter just as much.
Longer term, there’s clear scope to deepen your technical experience, build your own reputation within the market and progress within a firm that has created a genuinely sustainable model for family lawyers who want to enjoy the work they do without burning out.
