Hot Job

Apply now
  • Join a nationally recognised Court of Protection team handling high-value, complex work
  • Clear, structured progression with real examples of internal promotion
  • Hybrid working, strong wellbeing focus, and a genuinely supportive team culture

This is an excellent opportunity for a Court of Protection solicitor at NQ–2 PQE level to join a highly regarded North West team with a national reputation for complex, high-value Court of Protection work.

In your first six months, you’ll work closely with two highly experienced Partners, stepping into an existing caseload and learning from some of the most respected practitioners in the field. By 12 months, you’ll have completed a structured training programme, grown in confidence, and begun to shape your own caseload, with promotion to Associate firmly on the table for those who excel. Over the longer term, you’ll play a key role in mentoring trainees, contributing to business development, and continuing to grow a department that competes with top-tier city teams for quality of work.

This role offers genuine progression, outstanding technical exposure, and the chance to build a long-term career in Court of Protection without needing to move firms to move up.

Who we’re looking for

  • NQ–2 PQE solicitor
  • Background in Court of Protection, or general Private Client with a genuine desire to specialise
  • Empathetic, emotionally intelligent, and driven
  • Confident, outgoing, resilient, and able to hold your own in a busy, high-calibre team
  • Comfortable working on complex, sensitive matters
  • Team-focused with a strong work ethic
  • Full UK driving licence (essential for client visits)

What you’ll be doing

  • Taking ownership of an existing Court of Protection caseload
  • Handling predominantly Property & Finance work, with exposure to:
    • High-value clinical negligence deputyships
    • Complex and contentious Court of Protection matters
    • Some elderly client work
  • Working directly with Partners on complex cases
  • Being client-facing and fee-earning from an early stage
  • Supporting and, over time, mentoring more junior colleagues
  • Contributing to business development and the continued growth of the department

Salary & Benefits

  • £38,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience)
  • Nationally recognised Court of Protection work that rivals top city teams
  • Walking into an established caseload, no need to build from scratch
  • Hybrid working (typically 2 days from home)
  • Clear progression framework with title reviews every 12 months
  • Strong culture of internal development, training contracts, apprenticeships, and promotions supported
  • Extensive wellbeing programme
  • Post-probation benefits including:
    • Tech scheme (salary sacrifice)
    • Buy/sell holidays
    • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Professional but fun environment with lots of charity work, socials, networking, and a genuine “family feel”
  • Modern, forward-thinking approach to systems and technology
