This Rotherham-based Care Solicitor role offers the chance to join a large, collaborative family team where people genuinely support each other across offices.
You’ll be handling complex child law matters, including care proceedings, pre-proceedings, child protection, special guardianship, fostering and adoption. There may also be some private children work.
The team is well-established, supportive and used to sharing workloads, covering hearings and helping each other when needed. You’ll be trusted to build your caseload at a sensible pace, with an initial lead-in target rather than full targets from day one.
Who we’re looking for
- Solid understanding of childcare law
- Experience managing or assisting on public law children matters
- Ability to run files from start to finish, or readiness to build towards this
- Collaborative and team-focused approach
- Full-time or part-time from 3 days considered
- Advocacy experience (Desired)
- Children Law Accreditation (Desired)
- Friendly, caring and client-focused personality (Desired)
What you’ll be doing
- Managing a caseload of care and child protection matters
- Handling pre-proceedings and PLO meetings
- Advising on special guardianship, fostering and adoption matters
- Conducting your own advocacy where appropriate
- Delivering strong client care throughout
- Supporting colleagues across Rotherham and Sheffield
