Are you an experienced Family Solicitor looking for a genuinely part-time role where you can maintain your career progression without sacrificing work-life balance?
This established Altrincham practice is looking for a Part-Time Family Solicitor to take ownership of an existing privately funded caseload and help develop its family offering.
You’ll handle divorce, financial remedy and wider private family matters with significant autonomy. At the same time, you’ll have access to a matrimonial solicitor with more than 30 years’ experience who provides highly accessible support and mentoring.
The opportunity can also develop into something bigger. If leadership appeals to you, there’s genuine scope to help grow the department and progress towards Head of Department.
Who we’re looking for
- Ideally 2+ years’ PQE in Family Law (E)
- Private Family experience (E)
- Ability to independently manage a caseload (E)
- Divorce and financial remedy experience (E)
- Strong client care skills (E)
- Good organisation and file management (E)
- Friendly, collaborative approach (E)
- Interest in developing the department (E)
- Supervisory or management experience (D)
- Existing referral relationships (D)
NQ Solicitors with strong potential may also be considered given the level of experienced support available.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing a private family caseload
- Handling divorce and financial remedy matters
- Running files from instruction to conclusion
- Building relationships with existing clients
- Developing local referrer relationships
- Generating new work and ideas
- Helping grow the family offering
- Supporting wider team development
- Progressing towards leadership if desired
Salary & Benefits
- £30,000–£40,000 depending on working pattern and experience
- 3 or 4-day working week
- 10% bonus on billings above target
- Reduced 3x salary target for part-time lawyers
