Are you a technically strong Private Client lawyer looking for complex work without the rigid targets and career structures often associated with it?
This highly regarded boutique practice is looking for a Private Client Associate to join its established Private Wealth team in Warwickshire. You’ll work alongside multiple Legal 500-listed lawyers on sophisticated matters for HNW clients, with trusts and tax forming an important part of the role.
The firm takes an unusually flexible approach to career development. You could build a niche as a technical specialist, develop towards leadership, mentor junior lawyers or pursue Partnership. There are no fixed time-in-role requirements or caps on how many people can progress to each level.
As an employee-owned business, the culture is collaborative rather than hierarchical. Partners work closely alongside fee earners, targets are genuinely team-based, and the emphasis is on delivering an outstanding service rather than chasing individual billing figures.
Who we’re looking for
- Private Client lawyer, likely 3+ PQE (E)
- Strong Private Client technical grounding (E)
- Trusts experience (E)
- Basic tax experience (E)
- Experience advising HNW clients (E)
- Strong problem-solving and bigger-picture thinking (E)
- Collaborative, team-focused approach (E)
- Enthusiasm for developing deeper technical expertise (E)
- STEP qualification (D)
- Experience from a recognised Private Client practice (D)
You’ll need a working understanding of areas such as IHT, lifetime gifting into trusts, lifetime planning, ten-year trust calculations, CGT and income tax. You don’t need to know every technical intricacy already – there is significant expertise within the team to help you develop further.
