This is a rare opportunity for an established Private Client Partner, or a very senior lawyer on the cusp of partnership, to join one of the North West’s most respected independent law firms.
Ideally, the firm would like to appoint an existing Partner. However, they would consider a Senior Associate or Legal Director from a strong national or top-tier regional firm who is blocked by a glass ceiling, particularly if they are 10+ PQE or can demonstrate credible market connections and future growth potential. There is a clear partnership track, which can be achieved relatively quickly for the right individual.
Who we’re looking for
- Established Wills, Trusts & Probate Partner
- Alternatively, Senior Associate / Legal Director 10+ PQE with clear partnership ambition
- Strong private client experience from a national or top-tier regional firm
- Exceptional knowledge across wills, trusts, probate and tax planning
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior team members
- STEP qualified
- Strong technical skill and commercial awareness
- Market connections and ability to build relationships/referrals (Desired)
- Collegiate mindset aligned with an independent, entrepreneurial firm culture
What you’ll be doing
- Advising predominantly HNW individuals and business owners
- Leading on complex, tax-efficient wills and succession planning
- Inheritance tax mitigation and asset protection advice
- Structuring lifetime trusts and Family Investment Companies
- Administering taxable and complex estates
- Trust administration
- LPAs and Court of Protection applications
- Supervising and supporting junior lawyers and Senior Associates
- Playing a visible leadership role within the team
- Supporting the wider firm by promoting cross-referrals and building relationships
