Private Client Solicitor

Apply now
  • Step into a busy, established private client caseload with genuine succession planning and partnership potential
  • Join a friendly, non-corporate Cheshire firm offering autonomy, support and excellent work–life balance
  • No requirement to bring work, the caseload and support structure are already in place

This is an excellent opportunity for a Private Client Solicitor to join a well-established Cheshire firm at a pivotal moment in the department’s long-term growth plans.

The role has arisen as part of a planned succession strategy, with a highly respected senior solicitor preparing for retirement later this year. You’ll step into an established and profitable caseload with the support of a paralegal and secretary, alongside a collaborative team environment where people stay long-term and genuinely enjoy working together.

The firm has a strong reputation locally and a steady pipeline of work, meaning there’s no expectation to generate your own clients or bring a following. Instead, the focus is on delivering excellent client care, supporting the development of more junior lawyers and becoming a key long-term figure within the team.

This role offers genuine autonomy, clear progression prospects and realistic partnership potential for someone who wants to grow their career in a stable, down-to-earth environment without the politics or pressure often associated with larger firms.

Who we’re looking for

  • Qualified Private Client Solicitor with 3-6 years’ PQE
  • Strong experience handling wills, LPAs and probate matters independently
  • Comfortable managing a busy caseload autonomously
  • Experience supporting or mentoring more junior colleagues
  • Strong client care and relationship management skills
  • Organised, approachable and collaborative
  • Someone looking for long-term progression and greater autonomy

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing a varied private client caseload including wills, probate and LPAs
  • Advising clients on estate administration and succession planning matters
  • Handling some HNW work
  • Working closely with a dedicated paralegal and secretary
  • Supporting and mentoring a more junior solicitor within the team
  • Delivering excellent standards of client care
  • Contributing to the continued growth and stability of the department

Salary & Benefits

  • Excellent salary package depending on experience
  • Genuine partnership potential, salaried or equity
  • Hybrid working with 1 day from home per week
  • Full-time or 4-day working week considered
  • 35-hour working week (9am–5pm)
  • Car parking space provided
  • Strong work–life balance with no long-hours culture
  • Friendly, supportive and non-corporate environment
  • Established workflow with no expectation to generate your own work
  • High levels of autonomy and long-term progression opportunities
