This is a strong opportunity for a Private Client Solicitor looking to step into higher-calibre work while still benefiting from genuine support, flexibility and long-term progression.

Based in Bolton, you’ll join a growing private client team following a recent retirement and relocation overseas, creating immediate demand for an additional solicitor at 3–5 PQE level. The team has recently welcomed a highly experienced former Equity Partner into the Head of Department role, giving you direct access to senior technical support and mentoring from someone who understands how to develop lawyers properly.

You’ll handle a varied caseload spanning wills, probate and estate administration, with exposure ranging from straightforward matters through to multi-million-pound estates. There’s already a strong pipeline of work available, so this isn’t a role where you’ll be expected to build from scratch or generate your own workload immediately.

Over time, there’s genuine scope to develop into more complex HNW and UHNW work while progressing through a clearly defined career structure. STEP qualification is actively supported for those who want to strengthen their technical expertise further.

Who we’re looking for

• Qualified Private Client Solicitor with 3–5 years’ PQE
• Experience managing your own private client caseload including wills and probate matters
• Comfortable working autonomously with support available where needed
• Strong client care and communication skills
• Organised and commercially aware approach to file management
• Team-oriented and keen to develop long term within a growing department
• STEP qualification or desire to undertake STEP qualification (Desired)
• Exposure to HNW or more complex estates beneficial but not essential (Desired)

What you’ll be doing

• Managing your own private client caseload from instruction through to completion
• Advising on wills, probate and estate administration matters
• Handling a mix of straightforward and more complex estates
• Supporting clients through sensitive matters with clear, practical advice
• Working closely with the Head of Department on higher-value matters where appropriate
• Building long-term client relationships and maintaining high service standards
• Assisting with progression of the wider team as the department continues to grow
