Residential Conveyancer
- Competitive salary plus hybrid working
- Manage a realistic caseload in a service-led team, not a high-volume conveyancing factory
- Join during an exciting period of growth with the opportunity to influence how the department develops
If you’re an experienced Residential Conveyancer who enjoys delivering a genuinely good service to clients rather than being pushed through an unsustainable volume of files, this could be an excellent next move.
The team is now entering its next phase of growth. You’ll take ownership of an existing caseload of around 65 live files while helping the department strengthen its local referral network and gradually increase transactional volumes.
Longer term, there’s plenty of opportunity to make your mark. The department wants to broaden its offering into areas such as new builds and auctions, invest further in technology and bring additional fee earners into the team as volumes increase.
The culture is friendly, calm and collaborative. Targets are realistic, service comes before volume, and you’ll have support around you rather than being expected to manage every element of the conveyancing process alone.
Who we’re looking for
- Experience managing your own Residential Conveyancing caseload
- Strong understanding of the residential conveyancing process
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent client relationship skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- Confident using case management systems and Microsoft Office
- Friendly, approachable and service-driven attitude
- Calm and collaborative approach to working within a team
- Ability to handle standard sales and purchases with minimal supervision (Desired)
- Previous business development experience (Desired)
What you’ll be doing
- Managing around 65 active conveyancing files
- Handling freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Running matters from instruction through to completion
- Preparing contract packs
- Reviewing searches and title information
- Raising and responding to enquiries
- Liaising with clients, lenders and solicitors
- Building relationships with local estate agents
- Keeping clients regularly updated
- Maintaining accurate records on Proclaim
- Supporting referral and business development activity
- Contributing to the department’s continued growth
Salary & Benefits
- Hybrid working – 1 day per week from home
- Realistic caseload of around 65 files
- Administrative support
- Established Proclaim case management system
- Investment in technology and modern processes
- Support of a wider established legal brand
- Strong existing local reputation
- Friendly and supportive working environment
- Service-led rather than volume-led approach
- Opportunity to help shape the department as it grows
- Scope to develop experience in additional conveyancing specialisms
- Potential leadership opportunities as further fee earners join
