Residential Conveyancing Solicitor

Apply now
  • Clear route to Deputy HoD / HoD, not just another fee earner role
  • 2 days from home + realistic targets + monthly bonus scheme
  • Strong referral network and cross-sell, no need to build from scratch

If you’re a conveyancer who enjoys running your own desk but wants more influence over how things are done, this role offers that balance.

You’ll step into a busy Macclesfield-based team with a steady flow of work and strong internal referrals from private client and family teams. From day one, you’ll take over a full caseload and be trusted to manage it end-to-end, with the expectation that you’ll keep things moving efficiently while maintaining high standards.

In the first 6–12 months, the focus is consistency: hitting billing targets, strengthening relationships with local agents, and bringing structure to your pipeline. Longer term, there’s a clear pathway into leadership, whether that’s mentoring more junior staff, taking ownership of processes, or progressing into a Deputy HoD or HoD role.

The culture is straightforward and grounded. It’s a team that values reliability, communication and getting the job done properly, without unnecessary hierarchy or corporate feel. There’s a social side too, but it’s not forced. You’ll be working alongside people who take their work seriously but don’t take themselves too seriously.

Who we’re looking for

  • 3+ years’ PQE (Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or equivalent) in residential conveyancing
  • Experience handling freehold, leasehold and new build transactions
  • Ability to manage a full caseload independently
  • Proven track record of consistent monthly billings
  • Strong understanding of CQS standards and compliance requirements
  • Experience building relationships with agents or referrers (Desired)
  • Supervisory or mentoring experience (Desired)
  • Familiarity with Proclaim case management system (Desired)
  • Down-to-earth, proactive and able to work under pressure

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing a caseload of residential conveyancing matters from instruction to completion
  • Handling freehold, leasehold, remortgages, transfers of equity and new build work
  • Maintaining strong file management, compliance and AML standards
  • Building and maintaining relationships with local agents and developers
  • Supervising and mentoring an assistant
  • Contributing to improvements in case management systems and workflows
  • Supporting review generation and client satisfaction initiatives

Salary & Benefits

  • Monthly bonus scheme + additional incentives
  • Hybrid working, 2 days from home
  • Clear progression pathway to Deputy HoD / HoD / Associate Director
  • Strong internal referral network and established pipeline of work
  • 31 days holiday (including bank holidays) + birthday off + Christmas closure
  • Westfield healthcare cash plan + virtual GP access
  • 5% pension + 4x death in service
  • Regular team socials, coffee mornings and events
