Senior Private Client Solicitor

If you’re an experienced Private Client Solicitor who enjoys being trusted to manage your own work, but still wants a supportive team around you, this Bury-based role offers an attractive balance.

You’ll join a close-knit Private Client department led by an experienced Head of Department, alongside solicitors, paralegals and dedicated secretarial support. The team works across Bury and Rochdale, and you’ll have access to both offices as you manage a varied caseload spanning wills, trusts, probate and Court of Protection.

Trusts experience is particularly important, giving you the opportunity to use your technical expertise while continuing to broaden your experience across the wider Private Client spectrum.

There’s also plenty of scope to make the role your own. You’ll be given autonomy rather than being micromanaged, with the opportunity to become an increasingly important senior figure as the department develops.

Who we’re looking for

• Private Client Solicitor with 5+ years’ PQE
• Strong trusts experience (Essential)
• Broad experience across wills and probate (Essential)
• Ability to independently manage your own caseload (Essential)
• Strong emotional intelligence and confidence supporting vulnerable clients (Essential)
• Personable approach and excellent client-care skills (Essential)
• Collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute as part of a close-knit team (Essential)
• Court of Protection experience (Desirable)
• STEP qualification (Desirable)

What you’ll be doing

• Managing your own varied Private Client caseload
• Advising on wills and succession matters
• Handling trusts work and providing technically strong advice
• Managing probate and estate administration matters
• Handling Court of Protection work where appropriate
• Advising vulnerable clients and their families with sensitivity and empathy
• Developing long-term relationships with clients
• Working closely with the Head of Department and wider Private Client team
• Collaborating with colleagues across the Bury and Rochdale offices
• Using your experience to contribute to the continued development of the department
