Our latest guest interview is with Laura Bywater, who has recently joined Price Slater Gawne as the Head of their Private Client team. We asked Laura all about her new role, why she specialised in private client and who she’d invite to her dream dinner party!
You’ve just joined Price Slater Gawne as Head of their Private Client team, what are you most looking forward to about joining the firm?
I am very excited to be joining PSG as head of their Private Client team. I look forward to enhancing the firm’s private client base and promoting its reputation for providing specialist advice to families both locally and nationally. I am thrilled to be working with the rest of the team at PSG in a new, ambitious environment with the tools and support necessary to grow and develop the firm’s private client offering.
Why did you initially decide to specialise in private client?
I chose to specialise in Private Client as it is very much a constructive rather than destructive area of law. I am passionate about helping families structure their affairs for tax mitigation and asset protection purposes. It really is about helping people look after, grow and ultimately pass on hard-earned assets to the next generation.
What was the last film you saw?
The last movie I watched was Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. When my daughter finishes a book we always celebrate by watching the movie.
Where is your favourite holiday destination?
Oh, this is such a hard question as I love to travel and always enjoy visiting new countries and experiencing different cultures. Looking back at the countries I have visited over the last 2 years, I’d pick Montenegro as my favourite spot! I will never forget zip lining over the Tara Canyon with my then 3 and 5-year-olds!
How would you spend your perfect day off?
My perfect day off would involve a visit to North Wales in the sunshine with my family. We plan to do the Zip World Fforest Coaster on our next dry visit.
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party?
My 3 dinner party guests would be…… Sir David Attenborough. Imagine spinning a globe and picking a place for him to tell you about his adventures and the animals he encountered. Next would be Morgan Freeman. His voice and life experiences at the dinner table would be amazing. Finally…… Cillian Murphy for obvious reasons!
