Are you an experienced Clinical Negligence Fee Earner looking for greater autonomy, good-quality work and a supportive environment where client outcomes come before excessive targets?

This established Greater Manchester practice is looking for a Clinical Negligence Fee Earner to join its experienced team in Oldham. You’ll inherit an existing caseload of approximately 40–60 matters, allowing you to take responsibility for quality work from the outset.

The caseload is predominantly pre-litigation, with fewer than 10 matters currently litigated, and includes claims of varying complexity. You’ll manage cases from inception through to settlement or trial and join the department’s rota for new enquiries and instructions.

You’ll be part of a close-knit team with experienced senior lawyers, a trainee and paralegal, alongside dedicated administrative and secretarial support. There’s plenty of autonomy, but experienced support is readily available when you need it.

Who we’re looking for

• Proven Clinical Negligence fee-earning experience (E)
• Experience independently managing a Clinical Negligence caseload (E)
• Ability to handle cases from inception to settlement or trial (E)
• Strong Clinical Negligence law and procedure knowledge (E)
• Excellent client care and communication skills (E)
• Strong organisation and attention to detail (E)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively (E)
• Solicitor or CILEX qualification (D)

What you’ll be doing

• Inheriting approximately 40–60 existing cases
• Managing Clinical Negligence claims independently
• Running matters from inception to conclusion
• Handling predominantly pre-litigation cases
• Progressing litigated matters where required
• Taking new enquiries and instructions
• Supporting clients throughout their claims
• Working closely with senior lawyers
• Utilising paralegal and secretarial support

Salary & Benefits

• £40,000–£45,000 depending on experience, with potential flexibility
• 2 days working from home once established
• Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
