Court of Protection Associate Solicitor

Hot Job

Apply now
  • Grade B Court of Protection role with an existing caseload to step straight into
  • Clear opportunity to build and lead your own Court of Protection team
  • Hybrid working, autonomy, and genuine long-term progression with no glass ceiling

This is a standout opportunity for an experienced Court of Protection solicitor who wants more ownership, influence, and a clear path to leadership.

The role has been created to establish a dedicated Court of Protection function, taking over existing COP work that currently sits with the Private Client team. You’ll inherit a ready-made caseload from day one, with the scope to grow the offering further once a specialist is in place.

For someone who feels they’ve hit a ceiling in their current role, this offers the chance to shape something properly – without starting from scratch.

Who we’re looking for

  • Court of Protection Solicitor, Grade B level
  • 4–8 years’ PQE in Court of Protection work
  • Experience handling deputyships and attorneyships autonomously
  • Confident running a caseload with partner support rather than supervision
  • Ambitious and motivated to grow a service line and lead a team over time
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within a wider Private Client team
  • Looking for long-term progression rather than a sideways move

What you’ll be doing

  • Taking over an existing caseload
  • Managing matters autonomously, with support available from experienced partners
  • Acting as the dedicated Court of Protection specialist within the wider Private Client team
  • Helping relieve workload pressure from Wills and Probate solicitors
  • Growing the Court of Protection offering once recruitment is in place
  • Playing a key role in shaping the future structure of the COP team
  • Progressing into a Head of Court of Protection position as the department develops

Salary & Benefits

  • Competitive, market-aligned salary (dependent on experience)
  • Hybrid working with 2 days working from home
  • Genuine autonomy over your caseload
  • Clear career progression framework with no artificial ceiling
  • Opportunity to build and lead your own team
  • Strong partner support while retaining independence
  • Long-term, stable role with growth baked in from day one
