This is a rare opportunity for a paralegal to join one of the most specialist Court of Protection teams in the region, working on cases that go far beyond standard deputyship administration.
You’ll be trained closely by senior specialists on complex Court of Protection matters, including financial assessments, care-fee disputes, recoveries and investigations into financial abuse. This is a role for someone who enjoys detail, numbers, responsibility and meaningful work supporting vulnerable people and their families.
There are no billing targets here. Quality, accuracy and judgement matter far more than volume.
Who we’re looking for
- Paralegal with some private client experience
- Strong attention to detail and numeracy
- Comfortable using Excel and working with figures
- Empathetic communicator able to deal with vulnerable clients
- Calm, resilient and keen to learn
- Exposure to Court of Protection or probate work (Desired)
- Litigation or contentious probate background helpful (Desired)
You don’t need deep Court of Protection experience; training is provided. The key is curiosity, accuracy and the ability to handle sensitive matters calmly.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting senior specialists on Court of Protection deputyship matters
- Preparing applications, court documents and statutory paperwork
- Conducting financial assessments and spreadsheet-based calculations
- Maintaining and progressing deputyship files
- Drafting correspondence, reports and schedules
- Liaising with families, professionals and local authorities
- Assisting with care-fee disputes, recoveries and financial investigations
- Gaining exposure to contentious CoP and contentious probate crossover work
As you progress, you’ll begin running a small supervised caseload, with increasing responsibility over time.
