This is a genuinely rare opportunity for a Court of Protection solicitor to join a growing Manchester-based firm at an exciting stage of its development.
The firm is now looking to appoint a qualified solicitor to the team to take ownership of caseloads, provide technical oversight, and help shape how the department develops going forward.
The work is largely focused on elderly client matters, but is varied and interesting due to instructions coming in through panel work. This is not a replacement role, work is already there and continuing to grow.
Who we’re looking for
- Court of Protection Solicitor at Grade A, B or C level
- Able to run a Court of Protection caseload independently
- Experience in Property & Affairs matters, particularly elderly client work
- Comfortable working closely with paralegals and support staff
- For more senior candidates, willingness to support and supervise junior team members day to day
- Organised, confident, and technically sound
- Someone who enjoys fee earning and team support rather than business development
What you’ll be doing
- Running your own Court of Protection caseload with autonomy
- Handling a range of Property & Affairs matters, primarily for elderly clients
- Supporting and guiding a well-established team of paralegals
- Working closely with the owner of the firm on live matters
- Helping embed best practice, structure and consistency across the team
- Contributing to the continued growth of the COP offering without pressure to generate work
