Grade A Clinical Negligence Solicitor

Apply now
  • Run your own clinical negligence caseload with support on high-profile group actions
  • Hybrid working in a modern city-centre office with genuine work-life balance
  • Bonus scheme, birthday leave and a culture that actually feels human

This role is built for lawyers who want to do meaningful work without losing sight of why they got into this area in the first place.

You’ll take ownership of your own clinical negligence caseload from day one, handling claims from initial instruction through to resolution. The work spans a broad mix, from misdiagnosis and surgical errors through to life-changing injuries, with the opportunity to get involved in larger, more complex and high-profile cases alongside senior colleagues.

In your first few months, the focus is on getting settled, understanding how the team operates and building relationships with clients, experts and counsel. After that, you’ll be trusted to run your caseload independently while continuing to develop your technical expertise.

There’s also variety here beyond day-to-day files. If you’re interested, you’ll have the chance to contribute to group actions and wider strategic cases, giving you exposure to work you might not see in more volume-driven environments.

The culture is grounded and straightforward. It’s supportive without being overly structured, professional without being corporate, and focused on doing the right thing for clients while looking after the people doing the work.

Who we’re looking for

  • Qualified Solicitor with 2+ years’ experience in clinical negligence
  • Strong understanding of the Pre-Action Protocol for Clinical Disputes and CPR
  • Experience analysing and interpreting medical evidence
  • Confident managing a caseload independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Empathetic, client-focused approach
  • Experience using case management systems (Proclaim desirable)
  • Membership of AvMA, APIL or Law Society panel (Desired)

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing a full caseload of clinical negligence claims from start to finish
  • Advising clients on a range of matters including misdiagnosis, surgical errors and serious injury
  • Working closely with medical experts, counsel and other professionals
  • Analysing medical records and preparing claims
  • Supporting on high-value and group action cases where required
  • Maintaining strong client relationships throughout the lifecycle of a claim
  • Keeping up to date with legal developments and procedural changes

Salary & Benefits

  • Competitive salary + bonus scheme
  • Hybrid and flexible working option
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays + birthday off
  • Holiday purchase scheme and additional leave for long service
  • Health cash plan and pension scheme
  • Modern city centre office with wellness facilities, lounge space and barista services
  • Regular team events, including breakfast/lunch socials and fitness activities
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Recognition schemes and long service rewards
  • Strong, people-focused culture with a down-to-earth approach
