This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive Court of Protection team in Birkenhead.

Whether you’ve already worked in a law firm or you’re looking to transfer into Court of Protection from another area of law, full training will be provided. The firm offers structured internal development and external accreditation, with a clear pathway to becoming a fully-fledged Court of Protection Paralegal.

If you’re organised, numerate, and interested in meaningful work supporting vulnerable clients, this could be a strong long-term career move.

Who we’re looking for

  • No prior Court of Protection experience required, full training provided
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and confidence dealing with clients and professionals
  • Comfortable working with figures and managing client account balances
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset
  • Experience working in a law firm preferred
  • Open to CILEX or equivalent paralegals looking to retrain into CoP (Desired)

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting Solicitors with professional deputyship and trusteeship files
  • Drafting court applications, statements and correspondence
  • Maintaining relationships with clients, families, therapists and other professionals
  • Preparing OPG annual reports
  • Assisting with Financial Lasting Power of Attorney queries (within experience level)
  • Managing deputyship and client designated account balances
  • Making authorised payments and completing monthly reconciliations
  • Managing a small caseload of execution-only Personal Injury Trusts
  • Managing lay deputyship applications
  • Opening and closing files

This role offers genuine hands-on exposure to Court of Protection work from the outset, with increasing responsibility as you develop.
