You’ll join the Wealth Preservation team of a well-established private client department at a respected regional firm with deep roots in the Midlands. The firm is serious about investing in its people, this is a succession planning hire with a clear route to Partner for the right individual.
From day one, you’ll manage a diverse caseload of wills (including business and agricultural), lifetime trusts, inheritance tax and capital gains planning, and LPAs. You’ll be given plenty of autonomy to make the role your own, with the option to continue working across all areas or niche down into what you enjoy most.
As a Principal Associate, you’ll also support the development of junior lawyers and get involved in business development through networking and supporting the firm’s long-established will bank.
Who we’re looking for
- 7+ years’ PQE as a qualified solicitor
- Strong background in core private client work, including HNW and complex matters
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior lawyers
- Solid technical knowledge of inheritance and capital gains tax laws
- Confident advising on pilot trusts related to life policies and pensions
- STEP qualified
- Experience or appetite for business development
- Ambitious, credible and confident, with a desire to uphold and grow the firm’s local reputation
What you’ll be doing
- Managing a varied pre-death private client caseload
- Advising clients on wills, trusts, inheritance tax, capital gains and LPAs
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members
- Attending networking events and playing a role in business development
- Supporting the firm’s will bank and helping to drive further growth
- Contributing to the firm’s succession plan by growing into a senior leadership role
