Private Client Solicitor
- Join a genuinely close-knit, family-feel firm where people are valued as individuals, not numbers
- Low-pressure environment with realistic targets, excellent work–life balance and clear progression opportunities
- Step into a busy, established private client caseload with autonomy, stability and room to grow
This is an excellent opportunity for a Private Client Solicitor to join a long-established and highly respected firm in Kidderminster at a pivotal stage in the department’s growth.
Following a series of retirements and changes within the team, the firm is looking for someone who can come in, pick up a busy and varied caseload quickly and become part of a genuinely supportive, people-first culture where work–life balance is more than just a buzzword.
You’ll handle a broad range of private client matters including wills, LPAs, probate and estate administration, with some trusts work available for those looking to further develop technically. The role offers the chance to step into a well-established client base with a strong local reputation and high levels of walk-in work, while also helping shape the future direction of the department as it rebuilds to a full team structure.
This would suit a solicitor who enjoys working closely with clients, values strong relationships and wants to be part of a collaborative, down-to-earth team where everyone pulls together. The culture is intentionally non-corporate, approachable, caring and community-focused – with a real emphasis on flexibility, stability and long-term progression.
Who we’re looking for
- Qualified Private Client Solicitor with around 2–3 years’ PQE or above
- Experience handling wills, LPAs, probate and estate administration matters independently
- Confident managing an active caseload autonomously
- Strong communication and client-care skills
- Comfortable working with walk-in clients and community-based work
- Trusts experience desirable but not essential
- Warm, approachable and team-oriented personality
- Someone who values work–life balance and a supportive office culture
- Ambitious to progress within a growing team
What you’ll be doing
- Managing a varied private client caseload including wills, LPAs, probate and estates
- Handling matters from instruction through to completion
- Delivering excellent levels of client care and communication
- Supporting workflow consistency across the department
- Building relationships with local clients and referrers naturally through community presence
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, secretaries and the wider office team
- Contributing to the long-term growth and stability of the department
Salary & Benefits
- Salary circa £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience
- Low billing targets – approximately 3x salary
- 23 days holiday + bank holidays
- Birthday off
- Christmas shutdown
- Free parking
- Private medical insurance for Head of Department level
- Supportive, family-feel working environment
- Genuine work–life balance
- No culture of staying late — the office closes at 6pm sharp
- Potential for 1 day working from home after settling in
- Clear progression pathway toward Senior Associate level and beyond
