Private Client Senior Associate Solicitor
- Low targets (c.3x salary) and a genuine 9–5 culture, no pressure to overwork
- Clear route to Head of Department and Partnership if you want it
- Walk into an active caseload with strong local demand and regular walk-ins
There’s a gap here, and it’s a meaningful one. After a period of change, the private client team needs a senior lawyer who can bring stability, direction and a bit of calm leadership to the day-to-day.
From the outset, you’ll step into a live caseload of wills, LPAs, probate and estates work, with some exposure to trusts if that’s an area you enjoy. The work is already there, the clients are established, and the team is capable, what’s been missing is someone experienced enough to take the lead and pull things together.
Over your first year, you’ll naturally become the senior figure in the team. That means supporting junior colleagues, helping create consistency in how work flows through the department, and being the person others turn to for guidance. There’s no heavy business development expectation, most of the work comes through repeat clients and local presence.
Longer term, this role can become whatever you want it to be. There’s a clear pathway into a Head of Department position, and beyond that, partnership is a realistic option for someone who wants to take ownership of a growing area of the business.
The culture is refreshingly straightforward. It’s a close-knit office where people know each other well, work collaboratively and leave on time. No politics, no hierarchy for the sake of it, just a team that values balance, stability and doing good work for local clients.
Who we’re looking for
- Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years’ PQE in private client
- Strong experience across wills, LPAs, probate and estate administration
- Confident managing a caseload independently
- Strong client care skills, particularly with walk-in and community-based clients
- Warm, approachable and down-to-earth personality
- Someone who values a collaborative, people-first environment
- Experience or interest in trusts work (Desired)
- Comfortable supporting and guiding junior team members (Desired)
What you’ll be doing
- Managing a varied private client caseload including wills, LPAs, probate and estates
- Acting as a senior fee earner within a small team
- Providing guidance and informal supervision to junior colleagues
- Helping bring structure and consistency to the department
- Building relationships with local clients and maintaining community presence
- Contributing to the team’s growth and development over time
- Supporting high standards of client care and service
