Are you an experienced Private Client Solicitor looking for more than just another fee-earning role?

This growing Cheshire law firm is looking for a Private Client Solicitor with 5–10 years’ PQE to join its new Knutsford office and play an important part in developing the local team.

You’ll manage a varied caseload covering wills, probate, estate administration, trusts, tax advice, powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters. There’s also complex and HNW work available, depending on your experience.

Crucially, you won’t be starting from scratch. The firm already has plenty of work, with instructions flowing from its established Cheshire office and support available from the wider Private Client team.

Beyond managing your caseload, you’ll have the opportunity to develop relationships with local IFAs, contribute to business development and help recruit colleagues as the Knutsford team grows. It’s a chance to take on greater responsibility without the pressure of having to generate your own work immediately.

The culture is friendly, relaxed and collaborative, with an open-door management style and little micromanagement. There’s also a clear progression framework from Solicitor to Associate and ultimately Director.

Who we’re looking for

• Qualified Private Client Solicitor with 5–10 years’ PQE (E)
• Experience independently managing a Private Client caseload (E)
• Strong technical knowledge across wills, probate and estate administration (E)
• Ability to advise on a broad range of Private Client matters (E)
• Excellent client care and communication skills (E)
• Strong organisational and file management skills (E)
• Confident, proactive and comfortable working autonomously (E)
• Ability to work from the Knutsford office three days per week (E)
• STEP qualification (D)
• Experience with HNW estates, trusts and tax planning (D)
• Interest in developing relationships with local IFAs (D)
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues (D)

What you’ll be doing

• Managing a varied Private Client caseload
• Drafting wills and advising on estate planning
• Handling probate and estate administration
• Advising on trusts and tax matters
• Preparing powers of attorney
• Handling Court of Protection and deputyship matters
• Advising on complex and HNW estates
• Building relationships with clients and local IFAs
• Supporting business development initiatives
• Helping recruit and develop the Knutsford team
• Collaborating with the wider Cheshire Private Client department
