Are you a Private Client Solicitor looking for high-quality work and the chance to have a genuine influence on the growth of a team?
A leading regional firm is looking for a 3–8 PQE Private Client Solicitor to join its Legal 500-ranked team in York. Following a recent merger, the York office is entering an exciting period of investment and growth, including a brand-new office opening in January.
You’ll work directly alongside an experienced Private Client Partner, with the opportunity to become their trusted number two. You’ll manage a varied caseload covering wills, probate, trusts, estate administration, LPAs and tax and succession planning, with exposure to HNW, business and agricultural clients.
As the York team develops, you’ll also have the opportunity to supervise junior colleagues, build referrer relationships and play an active part in growing the department’s presence across York and North Yorkshire.
Who we’re looking for
- Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or equivalent (E)
- Around 3–8 years’ PQE (E)
- Experience managing your own Private Client caseload (E)
- Wills, Probate, LPAs and Estate Administration experience (E)
- Strong technical and drafting skills (E)
- Excellent client care and relationship-building skills (E)
- Commercial and organised approach (E)
- Experience supervising junior colleagues (D)
- HNW or agricultural client experience (D)
- Business development and networking experience (D)
- STEP qualified or working towards STEP (D)
- York or North Yorkshire connections (D)
What you’ll be doing
- Managing your own Private Client caseload
- Handling complex wills and probate matters
- Advising on trusts and estate administration
- Drafting Wills, LPAs and trust documentation
- Advising HNW individuals and families
- Working with business and agricultural clients
- Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues
- Developing referrer relationships
- Contributing to networking and business development
- Identifying cross-referral opportunities
- Helping grow the York team
Salary & Benefits
- £45,000–£60,000 depending on experience
