We are delighted to announce that this year Realm will be supporting Emmeline’s Pantry, a fantastic local charity run by women for women in need. The organisation helps vulnerable women and their families access the things they need most, including food, toiletries, baby equipment and clothes. Many of its service users are refugees or have experienced domestic abuse.
Led by a dedicated group of women and supporters and volunteers, Emmeline’s Pantry was originally set up as a food bank in the basement of Emmeline Pankhurst’s former home. Over the last five years, the charity has expanded and has recently moved to a larger headquarters in Chorlton. It continues to provide a food bank service three times a week.
Over the next 12 months, we will be fundraising for the organisation to help support their important work. We’ll be doing our first fundraising activity on 20th March (watch this space!)
Before that, on Sunday March 8th, some of the Realm team will be attending the charity’s International Women’s Day Jamboree, a day full of activities and entertainment, including music, poetry, comedy and afternoon tea.
