This is a fantastic opportunity for a NQ-3 PQE Care Solicitor to join a busy and expanding childcare law team in Barnsley.
The role is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for public childcare law who wants to build their career in a supportive, forward-thinking environment. You’ll work on meaningful cases representing parents and children in care proceedings, helping families navigate some of the most challenging moments in their lives.

Who we’re looking for
- Solicitor with NQ–3 years PQE in childcare/care proceedings
- Experience representing parents and families in public law proceedings
- Advocacy experience or willingness to develop advocacy skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent client care and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, organised and able to manage deadlines
- Knowledge of legal aid eligibility and charging structures (Desired)
What you’ll be doing
- Representing parents and children in public law care proceedings
- Managing your own caseload of childcare matters
- Attending court hearings and undertaking advocacy where required
- Drafting legal documents and preparing cases for hearings
- Providing high standards of client care and maintaining strong relationships with clients and external organisations
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm
- Supporting the development of the care team and contributing to marketing and business development activity
