Clinical Negligence Solicitor

Apply now
  • £45,000–£75,000 plus bonus and employee ownership profit share
  • Join an award-winning Legal 500 and Chambers-ranked Clinical Negligence team handling complex, maximum-severity claims
  • Genuinely flexible hybrid working, flexi-hours and a clear pathway from Solicitor through to Partner

If you’re a Clinical Negligence Solicitor looking for high-quality work without sacrificing flexibility, this is an opportunity to join a specialist team during an exciting period of growth.

You’ll work on complex, multi-track medical negligence claims, including maximum-severity cases involving birth and brain injuries, delayed diagnoses, surgical errors and fatal incidents. Depending on your experience, you’ll either develop alongside experienced specialists as an assisting solicitor or take the lead on complex cases and supervise junior colleagues.

What makes the opportunity particularly different is the firm’s employee-owned structure. Once eligible, you’ll become a beneficiary of the Employee Ownership Trust, giving you the opportunity to share financially in the firm’s success while having a genuine voice in the business.

The culture is built around kindness, collaboration, ambition, flexibility and trust – creating an environment where you can develop a long-term career while maintaining a healthy balance outside work.

Who we’re looking for

  • Qualified Solicitor from NQ through to Grade A level
  • Experience or a proven track record in Clinical Negligence, appropriate to your level
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide clear and empathetic advice to clients dealing with difficult circumstances
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation and time-management skills
  • Comfortable working within a paperless environment
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Collaborative approach and strong team ethic
  • Experience within a Legal 500-ranked practice (Desired)
  • For Grade A candidates, the ability to lead matters and supervise paralegals

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll work as either a lead or assisting solicitor depending on your experience, handling a mixed caseload of multi-track Clinical Negligence claims.
  • Investigating potential Clinical Negligence claims and assessing prospects
  • Reviewing medical records and complex medical evidence
  • Establishing whether substandard treatment resulted in injury or harm
  • Handling claims involving misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis
  • Working on surgical negligence and treatment-error cases
  • Handling serious birth and brain injury claims
  • Acting on fatal Clinical Negligence matters
  • Developing case strategies designed to secure the best possible outcomes for clients
  • Providing clear, sensitive and practical guidance throughout the claims process
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues on complex and maximum-severity cases
  • Supervising and developing paralegals if joining at Grade A level

Salary & Benefits

  • Bonus scheme with potential to earn up to 10% of salary
  • Employee Ownership Trust profit share of 5% of salary, subject to eligibility and applicable tax treatment
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • Flexible hybrid working – typically at least one day per week in Altrincham, with greater office attendance initially for NQs and junior lawyers
  • Flexi-hours
  • Clear progression through Associate, Senior Associate and Partner
  • Pension contributions
  • Life assurance at 4x salary
  • Medicash
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
  • Birthday gift voucher
  • Electric car scheme after five years’ service
  • Strong commitment to professional development and career progression

You’ll be joining a financially growing, well-established practice whose revenue has increased significantly over the last two years, providing both career opportunity and long-term stability.
For someone who wants sophisticated Clinical Negligence work, genuine flexibility and the opportunity to share in the success of the firm they work for, this offers a compelling alternative to a more traditional law firm structure.
