Are you an experienced Court of Protection Solicitor looking for greater technical depth, high-quality work and the opportunity to develop your career within a genuinely specialist practice?

This award-winning boutique firm is continuing to grow and is looking for a Court of Protection Associate Solicitor to join its established Manchester team.

You’ll manage your own Property & Affairs caseload while working on sophisticated matters involving professional deputyships, high-value compensation awards, contested deputyships, jurisdictional issues and financial abuse investigations.

Importantly, you’ll have dedicated support. Case Workers manage much of the day-to-day financial administration, while trainee solicitors and paralegals provide further assistance, allowing you to focus your time on higher-level legal and client work.

• Experienced Court of Protection Solicitor (E)
• Strong Property & Affairs experience (E)
• Experience independently managing a COP caseload (E)
• Excellent client care and communication skills (E)
• Professional deputyship experience (E)
• High-value or complex COP experience (D)
• Contested Court of Protection experience (D)
• Experience preparing instructions to counsel and court bundles (D)
• Financial abuse investigation experience (D)
• Knowledge of care funding and welfare issues (D)
• Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards knowledge (D)

What you’ll be doing

• Managing Property & Affairs matters
• Handling professional deputyship work
• Advising on complex and high-value cases
• Making Court of Protection applications
• Handling contested matters
• Investigating financial abuse
• Advising families on LPAs and deputyships
• Preparing instructions to counsel
• Working with clients, families and carers
• Supporting senior lawyers on complex matters
