Are you a senior Court of Protection lawyer looking for more sophisticated work and the opportunity to build your career within a genuinely specialist practice?
This award-winning boutique firm is continuing to grow and is looking for a Court of Protection Senior Associate Solicitor to join its established Manchester team.
You’ll manage a high-quality Property & Affairs caseload, including professional deputyship work and complex matters involving significant compensation awards, contested deputyships, jurisdictional issues and financial abuse investigations.
You’ll work closely with specialist Court of Protection Directors while benefiting from dedicated Case Workers who handle day-to-day financial administration, alongside trainee and paralegal support. This gives you greater scope to focus on complex legal issues, strategic case management and client relationships.

- Senior-level Court of Protection experience (E)
- Strong Property & Affairs expertise (E)
- Professional deputyship experience (E)
- Ability to independently manage complex COP matters (E)
- Excellent client care and communication skills (E)
- High-value and complex deputyship experience (D)
- Contested Court of Protection experience (D)
- Experience preparing instructions to counsel and court bundles (D)
- Financial abuse investigation experience (D)
- Knowledge of care funding and welfare issues (D)
- Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards knowledge (D)
What you’ll be doing
- Managing complex Property & Affairs files
- Handling professional deputyship matters
- Leading high-value cases
- Managing contested COP work
- Making Court of Protection applications
- Investigating financial abuse
- Advising families on LPAs and deputyships
- Preparing instructions to counsel
- Advising on practical and legal issues
- Working closely with clients and families
- Supporting the wider specialist team
