This one already has the work.

You’ll join a respected Private Client team in Preston, handling a varied caseload of Court of Protection matters including deputyship applications, property and affairs files, and matters linked to personal injury and clinical negligence settlements.

There is no requirement to bring a following or arrive with a contact book, although business development interest would be welcomed if that’s part of your longer-term plan.

The role would suit an experienced Court of Protection Solicitor who wants autonomy, progression and the chance to help shape a growing team over time. For the right person, there is a clear route towards a future Head of Department role.

Who we’re looking for

  • Court of Protection Solicitor or CILEX equivalent with 4+ PQE
  • Experience managing your own Court of Protection caseload
  • Strong knowledge of property and affairs deputyship work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent client handling, presentation and communication skills
  • Commercially aware with strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Supervisory or team development experience (Desired)
  • Business development experience or interest in growing work (Desired)


What you’ll be doing

  • Managing a varied Court of Protection caseload
  • Handling deputyship applications and property and affairs matters
  • Working on files linked to PI and clinical negligence settlements
  • Supporting senior colleagues on wider departmental strategy
  • Supervising, mentoring and delegating work where appropriate
  • Contributing to team growth and continuous improvement
  • Building relationships with clients, referrers and internal teams
