EL/PL Solicitor
- No individual billing targets, focus on running cases properly, not chasing numbers
- Low caseloads with exposure to complex EL/PL and multi-track work
- Up to 3 days from home with a genuinely supportive, non-corporate culture
If you’re used to juggling high volumes or rigid targets, this role offers a different pace, one where quality of work actually comes first.
You’ll take on a mixed caseload of EL/PL and RTA matters, covering both fast track and multi-track work. From the outset, you’ll be trusted to manage files independently, without layers of unnecessary supervision. The expectation is that you run your cases properly, understanding the details, making sound decisions, and delivering strong outcomes for clients.
Over your first year, you’ll build consistency across your caseload and become a reliable part of the team. Longer term, there’s room to step into a more senior position, mentoring junior colleagues, handling more complex matters, and contributing to how the department develops.
The team itself is collaborative but gives you space to get on with your work. There’s no “factory” feel, caseloads are kept manageable, and the focus is on doing the job well rather than hitting arbitrary targets. It’s a setup that tends to suit lawyers who take pride in their work and want a bit more breathing room.
Who we’re looking for
- Minimum 3 years’ PQE in personal injury
- Experience handling EL/PL and RTA cases (fast track and multi-track)
- Ability to manage a full caseload independently
- Strong knowledge of personal injury law and procedure
- Strong drafting, negotiation and client-handling skills
- Experience using Proclaim (Desired)
- Proactive, detail-focused and able to work autonomously
- Interest in mentoring or progressing into a more senior role (Desired)
What you’ll be doing
- Managing a caseload of EL/PL and RTA claims from start to finish
- Handling both fast track and multi-track matters
- Drafting pleadings, agreements and legal documents
- Negotiating with insurers and third parties
- Attending hearings where required
- Maintaining accurate records using the Proclaim CMS
- Supporting junior team members as you become more established
- Contributing to the wider team’s performance and development

- Low caseloads allowing focus on quality work
- Healthcare scheme + death in service + enhanced sick pay
- 20 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service)
- Flexible working hours
- Strong focus on training, coaching and career development
