Family Partner

Apply now
  • Step into a genuine succession opportunity within one of the North West’s most respected private family teams
  • No client following required — inherit a thriving HNW caseload from day one
  • Employee-owned firm offering city-quality work without the city-centre culture

Partner opportunities like this rarely come onto the market. Rather than replacing someone and maintaining the status quo, you’ll be joining a team that’s entering its next phase of growth, with a genuine opportunity to become one of its key leaders.

Based in Altrincham, this role has been created as part of a carefully planned succession strategy. As the department evolves, the firm is looking for an experienced private family lawyer to step into a senior position, inherit an established caseload and help shape the future direction of one of the region’s most highly regarded family teams.

You’ll handle a broad range of complex, privately funded matters, including HNW divorce, financial remedy and modern family work, while working alongside highly respected specialists. Beyond the legal work itself, you’ll have the opportunity to mentor junior lawyers, influence strategic decisions and play a central role in the department’s continued organic growth.

Importantly, there’s no expectation to bring clients with you. The work is already there, the client relationships are well established, and the firm’s marketing team plays an active role in supporting business development. That means you can focus on delivering exceptional work and building your profile naturally, rather than starting from scratch.

The wider firm has built its reputation by offering the quality of work and financial strength you’d expect from a leading regional practice, but without the long-hours culture or internal politics often associated with larger city firms. It’s employee-owned, financially strong and committed to sustainable growth, creating an environment where ambitious lawyers can build long-term careers.

Who we’re looking for

  • Experienced Family Solicitor ready for Partner level or an existing Partner (E)
  • Significant experience handling complex privately funded family matters (E)
  • Strong expertise in HNW divorce and financial remedy work (E)
  • Experience advising on private children matters (E)
  • Strong mentoring and leadership capability (E)
  • Excellent technical ability and client relationship skills (E)
  • Collaborative, commercially minded and pragmatic approach (E)
  • Interested in helping shape the long-term future of a growing department (E)

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing a complex HNW private family caseload
  • Advising on divorce, financial remedy and private children matters
  • Playing a key leadership role within the department
  • Mentoring and developing junior lawyers
  • Supporting business development alongside the firm’s marketing team
