You’ll become part of an established Family team handling a broad range of privately funded and Legal Aid matters, including divorce, financial remedy, private children and domestic abuse cases. Who we’re looking for
- Qualified Family Solicitor with experience managing their own caseload
- Strong experience in private children, divorce, financial remedy and domestic abuse matters
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- Experience of advocacy and representing clients in court
- Strong drafting skills
- Knowledge of Legal Aid and eligibility requirements
- Ability to develop your own client relationships and contribute to business development
- Self-motivated with excellent organisational and decision-making skills
- Experience supervising colleagues for Legal Aid purposes (Desired)
- TOLATA experience (Desired)
- Leadership experience or aspirations (Desired)
What you’ll be doing
- Managing your own caseload of family law matters from instruction through to conclusion
- Advising clients on divorce, financial remedy, private children and domestic abuse matters
- Attending court for directions hearings, financial dispute resolution appointments and other hearings
- Preparing Legal Aid applications and liaising with the Legal Aid Agency
- Drafting legal documents, applications and correspondence
- Developing your own client relationships and supporting business development initiatives
- Supervising junior colleagues and carrying out file reviews where appropriate
- Working collaboratively as part of a supportive Family team
