Family Solicitor
- Clear path from day one, progression all the way to equity if you want it
- Build your caseload with support, not expected to bring work in from scratch
- Friendly, down-to-earth team with real access to Partners and hands-on support
This West Yorkshire-based role is ideal if you want to grow your career without being thrown in at the deep end. You won’t be expected to arrive with a following; instead, you’ll build your caseload steadily, with work already coming into the team.
In your first few months, you’ll pick up existing files and start building your own pipeline, supported by regular supervision and easy access to senior lawyers. There’s an open-door culture here; if you need guidance, you can pick up the phone or walk over and ask.
By the 12-month mark, the expectation is that you’re running a full caseload confidently, hitting targets consistently and managing your own clients end-to-end. The work is varied: divorce, financial remedy, private children matters, with some legal aid, giving you a broad and commercially useful skillset.
Long-term, progression is very much in your hands. Whether you want to specialise, step into leadership or work towards partnership, there’s a clear route mapped out, with examples of people who’ve done exactly that.
The environment is supportive without being overbearing. Regular check-ins, approachable leadership and a genuinely collaborative team mean you’re never left to figure things out alone, but you’re trusted to run your own work.
