Clinical Negligence Solicitor

Apply now
  • Work on high-value clinical negligence cases while building your own quality caseload
  • Gain direct client exposure from day one and develop alongside experienced specialists
  • Hybrid working, 10% bonus scheme and a clear pathway from Solicitor to Partner

If you’re looking for a Clinical Negligence role where you’ll be trusted with meaningful work early in your career, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

You’ll join a growing specialist team handling a broad range of complex clinical negligence claims, from brain and spinal injuries to birth injuries, surgical negligence, GP negligence and delayed diagnosis cases. Rather than sitting in the background, you’ll have direct contact with clients from the outset, helping people and their families through some of the most difficult periods of their lives.

Initially, you’ll manage your own caseload of around 15 files while supporting senior colleagues on more complex, higher-value matters. Working within a collaborative structure, you’ll be involved in strategy discussions, work alongside experienced specialists and gain exposure to catastrophic claims that many lawyers don’t encounter until much later in their careers.

As your experience grows, so will your responsibility. You’ll progress to managing increasingly complex claims independently, support junior solicitors as they develop and continue building your expertise in high-value litigation.

The team places just as much importance on rehabilitation and client wellbeing as legal outcomes. You’ll be encouraged to build genuine relationships with clients, visit them where appropriate and work closely with medical professionals to help secure the best possible outcome for every case.

Who we’re looking for

  • Qualified Solicitor with approximately 1–6 years’ PQE in Clinical Negligence
  • Experience managing or assisting on claimant clinical negligence matters
  • Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
  • Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills
  • Empathetic, client-focused approach
  • Able to manage multiple matters effectively
  • Good understanding of GDPR and Anti-Money Laundering requirements
  • Collaborative team player with the ambition to develop within a specialist practice

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing your own caseload of clinical negligence claims with appropriate supervision
  • Supporting senior lawyers on high-value and catastrophic injury cases
  • Reviewing medical records and assessing liability
  • Preparing schedules of loss and progressing claims through litigation
  • Negotiating settlements with defendants and third parties
  • Providing regular advice and updates to clients by phone and in person
  • Attending conferences, hearings and training where appropriate
  • Mentoring junior colleagues as your experience develops
  • Supporting networking, fundraising and charity initiatives

Salary & benefits

  • 10% bonus based on chargeable hours and billings
  • Hybrid working (three days in the office during probation, reducing to two afterwards)
  • Flexible working hours
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service
  • Birthday privilege day
  • Pension
  • Life Assurance
  • Structured wellbeing programme
  • Medical cash plan
  • Clear progression pathway to Associate, Senior Associate and Partner

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing specialist practice where you’ll work on life-changing cases, receive outstanding support from experienced colleagues and benefit from a genuinely collaborative culture. With a clear career pathway, quality work from day one and the chance to make a real difference to clients’ lives, it’s an ideal move for an ambitious Clinical Negligence Solicitor.
