Court of Protection Solicitor - Manchester

Our client is looking for a Court of Protection fee earner with two or more years’ experience to join their standout Legal 500 Tier 1 ranked Private Client team, working up to two days from home.

The ideal candidate would have experience of running their own deputyship matters and could be a solicitor, legal executive or experienced paralegal as a file handler.

You’ll be joining the team at an exciting time, as the position has come about due to continued growth and success. You’ll learn from the very best, as you’ll be managed by an award-winning lawyer who is also ranked as a Leading Individual in Legal 500.

And if you are looking to gain valuable experience in management and leadership, the role also comes with the exciting opportunity to run, with management support, your own small team as a team leader, supported by and supervising a couple of juniors/paralegals, and growing this as new work comes in.

You'll be able to use this experience to progress quickly, as the firm also runs a clear and transparent annual promotion scheme, which is open to all – so no more waiting patiently for your manager to recognise and reward your contributions.

This full-service, Top 100 firm has offices nationally. It is accredited by Investors in People and has been named as one of The Sunday Times’ Best Companies to Work For – and it’s easy to see why. Team members get a minimum of 25 days' annual leave, plus office closure between Christmas and New Year and an additional two days per year to do charitable work.

You'll gain experience of a varied caseload, with deputyships from the OPG’s Panel, Local Authorities, Charities and Care Providers, supporting clients (plus their family and circle of care) with learning difficulties, mental health issues, substance abuse, brain injuries, and age-related injuries.

You'll manage a wide array of substantial estates, including dealing with property sales, probate administration, investments, management of care packages, applications for statutory care funding, court applications (such as statutory wills, gifts, further authority, overseas assets etc.), investigations into previous financial abuse, and reporting to court and safeguarding issues.
